We finally got a break in the weather. The below freezing temps went away and the sun came out. I’ve gotten a few things done this week, but here’s what I’d like to finish by the end of this weekend:
Set up lights and heater in greenhouse, move seedlings
Hook up new charge controller
Finish putting down cardboard and pine needles
Clean up the yard, or at least get a good start
Strip chicken wire off of catio to convert to chicken coop
Build 2 new beds
The electric fence has been replaced, and the newest cat got her first, and hopefully last lesson. It’s not strong enough to hurt any of my animals, but there is enough of a sting to keep them out of the garden. I haven’t seen her digging in my beds again since she figured out what the fence does. The dog and the other cats learned where the boundary was with the previous fence and keep away from it for the most part.
Here’s a peach bud for your enjoyment. I’m sure this tree will be fully bloomed out by next week with the warmer temps. Let’s hope it doesn’t set fruit too early, like it has the last two years in a row. I haven’t had peaches in two years thanks to early fruit being killed off by our final frost of the winter.

Until next time…
Jennifer
